The Autobiography of Henry VIII With Notes by His Fool, Will Somers

Summary (from the publisher): The spellbinding, imaginary memoirs of one of England's greatest kings, Henry VIII, through his childhood, his transformation of the Church, his six wives--two beheaded--the execution of his friend Thomas More, and his daughter, Elizabeth.

Review: This 932 page monstrosity rivaled the beastly stature of King Henry at his death and made me wonder why I still don't have a kindle (although it was good for some things - toning arm muscles, decimating errant roaches). Margaret George gives you the facts - and many of them, which make her novels both informative and intriguing. I thought the whole "with notes, by his fool, Will Somers," was a bit contrived, as it was clearly just a way for to add even more facts that the king himself probably wouldn't have known but otherwise a good (albeit lengthy) historical read.
