As my crush turns into an avalanche of Eliot, I think of him all the time now. But if he knew who I was, the entire house of cards we’ve built this relationship on would come toppling down. I want him to be mine, but we might never be more than just a sweet dream….

Review: Jessie has a huge crush on Eliot Hoffman so imagine her shock when she gets a random text from him late at night. She assumes it must have been a mistake, but she texts him back anyway. And they proceed to chat all night. The two find they can talk about anything and everything. The only problem is that Eliot didn't save Jessie's name in his phone, so he doesn't know who she is. And that's the one thing she doesn't want to tell him. 

Ok, I adored this! The audio was *chef's kiss. * The duet narration, complete with subtle sound effects like text message alerts and the sirens on the streets of New York City made me feel like I was listening to a TV show. It was just so performative and entertaining in the best way. This is very dialogue heavy, but it made sense since it was written specifically for audio and it worked so well. The two had such great banter and I loved how they get to know each other over texts and late-night phone calls and commiserate over both struggling with insomnia. This was really funny and I was grinning listening to parts of it, but the characters were also dealing with really serious issues, so this certainly didn't feel like just a fluff romance. 

While listening, I did keep thinking it was silly that Jessie wouldn't just tell him who she was. But when it was finally revealed why she didn't want him to know, it was actually a valid reason and concern. I do think it was resolved a little too speedily but still - the central premise of her wanting to remain anonymous to him made perfect sense. 

This was also totally closed door and no references to open door content for readers who are looking for that.
